Position Overview

Reporting to the VP New Enterprises, the Director of New Enterprises will oversee implementation of long-term and/or strategic innovation opportunities for Kate Farms, specifically "big bet" and "game-changing" projects. They will be responsible for driving growth with new products, channels, and geographies with the purpose of giving people with medical conditions the best nutrition possible.

The ideal candidate will need to, quite autonomously, develop and execute long-term opportunities while later folding in and engaging a cross-functional team to ensure data-backed, science-based, technically, and nutritionally advanced products are successfully launched to drive revenue and profit growth. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of driving projects forward with little oversight and without adding significant resource burdens to the organization, like an entrepreneur. This position requires a highly competent generalist capable of fulfilling many roles, particularly in project management, technical operations, product development, brand management, and finance. The candidate must be able to lead by influence with strong communication abilities capable of engaging all stakeholders to ensure continuity and alignment across functions to deliver creative solutions for our customers.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify key, strategic opportunities for Kate Farms investment in core business areas product/channel/geographic adjacencies using analytics, market data, and consumer research
  • Leverage past operational experience and/or key external partners to drive the development and execution of big bet innovations and successfully transition to commercial marketing for launch
  • Build intellectual property opportunities into every innovation project
  • Monitor and analyze market and industry trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to provide strategic recommendations to the executive team
  • Collaborate with brand marketing, finance, nutrition science, product development, quality, and regulatory to ensure successful opportunities for innovation and a smooth transition to commercial marketing for launch
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with key partners, including Marketing, Product Development, Procurement, Medical Science, Sales, Finance, and more
  • Create processes and capabilities that increase the speed-to-market and likelihood of success for new product platforms


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree required; Masters in Nutrition, Food Science, Business Administration or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience: 10+ years of product experience in product management, marketing, project management, or other relevant cross-functional experience
  • Able to work cohesively with multiple departments and teams in a remote working environment
  • Advanced computer skills, including advanced capability in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other database tools
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Able to work independently with a high level of accuracy
  • Medical and consumer products experience is highly desired
  • Experience with multiple ERP systems
  • Travel up to 25%

This position will work in a home/office environment with regular trips to corporate office, manufacturing, and distribution centers.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) , New York City's Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), and California's Pay Transparency bill (SB 1162) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be performed in Colorado, New York City, or California. If the position applied to is not located in Colorado, NYC, or California, the following information may not apply. Salary Minimum : $131,722 Salary Maximum $172,000. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Kate Farms salary range for this position. This range will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, internal pay alignment, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Kate Farms' total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long- term incentives.
