We are seeking a Field Sales Representative that will achieve goals for overall territory performance, as well as specific market and product families on a consistent basis. They will be responsible for selling products for manufacturer to business and industrial establishments by performing the duties included below.
Territory Responsibility:
- Northern California
- Location of field sales representative if flexible. Ideal candidate would be located in Northern California.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, resellers and end users. Expected travel is 60% - 75%, both local and within designated geographical territory. In addition to planned travel, spontaneous travel may be required at the request of a customer.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Develops and maintains sales material and stays current on product knowledge.
- Prepares presentations and product quotations
- Establish and nurture relationships with end user customers as well as distributors.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity or lead generation
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Follows up on payments.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Attends trade shows.
Experience Desired:
- A minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in building material sales industry.
