A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, the Aible Strategic Spinal Technology Manager is responsible for selling and integrating our Spine and Enabling Technologies under the AiBLE Ecosystem (ex: UNiD, Mazor Utilization and New Product Introductions like ModuLeX fixation, Catalfyt Interbodies, Anteralign ALO interbodies and DBJ Inject biologics). Through job related synergies in technical expertise, core spine rep training, and end user training; this individual will drive adoption of our Spine and Enabling Technologies through their technical and sales aptitude. This individual will also represent the company in accordance with its policies and in the area assigned, maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions and report back promptly to the Sr Strategic Sales Director.

This is a field based role.

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Manage and drive the day to day activities of the Spine and Enabling Technologies Strategic Sales Initiatives:

  • Clearly defined objectives and required activities

  • Sales and performance accountability for the regionally focused activities.

  • Consistency in our approach to specific Spine and Enabling Technologies sales activities and our “pull through” strategies

  • Strong collaboration with the Spinal Sales region, districts and territories

  • Create regional sales growth plans to meet and exceed company AOP and ensure proper execution

  • Work in tandem with the Spinal sales reps to identify prospective new users for Spine and Enabling Technologies

  • Lead to drive conversion of surgeons to Spine and Enabling Technologies procedures

  • Aggressively seek new customers and formulate follow-up plans for such action as directed by the Sr Regional Strategic Director

  • Be present during surgical evaluations of the Spine and Enabling Technologies procedure

  • Spine-based resource for Spine and Enabling Technologies to empower our core spine reps to help drive AiBLE procedures at their accounts

  • Work in concert with Spinal sales reps and District Managers on local projects, programs and Spine Enabling Technologies activities where appropriate

  • Responsible for assisting with specific Spine Enabling Technologies Field Training for our Core Spine Sales Force to increase overall sales and case support competencies

  • Work closely with our field sales partners to ensure adequate knowledge, experience, and commitment to mission in order to maintain competitive advantage in all geographic locations.

  • Help ensure the success of Spine and Enabling Technologies sales/marketing plans and sales objectives through sales efforts directed towards sales representatives and customers

  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions and trade shows as directed

  • Conduct hands-on training sessions for core spine reps, physicians and hospital staff

  • Lead to ensure resident and fellows are trained at academic institutions on Spine and Enabling Technologies procedures

  • Complete MBO requirements and periodic reporting as dictated by the senior leadership team

  • Provides a clinical resource for surgeons, clinicians and other being trained

  • Participates in in-house sponsored customer training at designated sites

  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with key literature

  • Solid understanding of competitive lateral devices in the U.S

  • Adhere to company policies and conduct all business in an ethical manner

  • Comply with all Medtronic Neuroscience policies

  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of 9 years of sales experience with 7 of those 9 years in medical sales; or

  • High School Diploma or GED AND 7 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep I experience plus 2 years of prior clinical or medical sales experience; or

  • Associate’s Degree AND a minimum of 7 years of sales experience with 5 of those 7 years in medical sales; or

  • Associate’s Degree AND 5 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep I experience plus 2 years of prior clinical or medical sales experience; or

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND a minimum of 5 years of sales experience with 3 of those 5 years in medical sales; or

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 3 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep I experience plus 2 years of prior clinical or medical sales experience.

Nice to Have: Preferences

  • 3 years of experience focused on the lateral spine procedure,

  • Intra-op support of extensive lateral fusion surgeries

  • Extensive cadaveric experience with lateral spine procedures

  • Experience training sales consultants and physicians preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Skillful in formulating strategies, tactics and action plans to achieve results

  • Strong focus on developing an organizational culture that fosters teamwork

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to effectively influence key decision makers

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel is required

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$100,000.00 - $100,000.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
